If you're filipino or a fan of boxing, then you know that Manny "The Pacman" Pacquiao, the fighting pride of the Philippines, brutalized Oscar De La Hoya in Saturday's extremely hyped Dream Match. While I would have liked to see a K.O., Manny dominated for 8 solid rounds and remains the pound-for-pound best fighter in the world. Although the match was a complete blowout, it meant a lot to filipinos across the globe and Manny is probably the most famous filipino since ... well Marcos. I have to admit, it was kind of crazy to see the Philippines national anthem sung on American television. So in celebration of Manny's victory, I recognized the contribution that Filipino-Americans have been making to hip-hop since the very beginning.
